How I Set Love Free...and Watched as It Returned to Me

If you love something, set it free; if it comes back it's yours, if it doesn't, it never was.

Love to read...does that make us ready to write?

Many of us are avid readers of romance: historical, contemporary, intrigue, erotic, fun loving, and if we read enough of them, we often feel we have the capacity and wherewithal to actual write a romance.

How many of you have submitted MS with this history?

Chasin' my tail, um, pen, um, keyboard. How to stop the cycle....

Ok, so I'm perusing all my old blog posts on here.  Wow.  Wake-up call.

Do you ever feel like you're chasing your own tail?  That's how I feel right now.  I'm not moving forward, I'm just running in circles!  And the running is wearing me out!  I suppose it wouldn't feel as bad if I could see the forward movement, but it isn't there.

Need Protein tips

CA8901WN.jpg

Has anyone run up against this yet? I'm eating a well-balanced diet and staying in the calorie range,
but I can't get enough protein in. The carbs seem to be double than my protein count.

If I eat an orange it's 18 carbs
If I eat a sweet potato its 37 carbs

Matchmaking or interfering best friends, family etc.

I'm making this call to all the authors who may read this. Interfering and/or matchmaking best friends and family are driving me into a major slump, my current pet hates are interfering best friends and arrogant "I know better than you what you want" heroes

ZUMBA!

This is a picture of my Zumba class (I'm WAY in the back on the far right) and for those of you who haven't heard of Zumba, let me just say it's a blast, a killer workout and the added benefit of burning off between 500-800 calories per session is the secret to my losing the better part of the 5 lbs I've dropped over the past 2 weeks. If you're looking for a ton of fun and a great compliment to your regular fitness routine, I highly recommend it.  And the good news is that Staness says that it's Menopause Makeover approved!

Now, this is a high-cardio workout and I have to caution anyone who has wonky knees from doing it, and probably as with any exercise program recommend that you check with  your Dr. first. I have a big honking knee brace that I wear and I temper a lot of the twisting moves to accomodate my particular injury so as not to make things worse.  I enjoy exercising in a group rather than on my own and the class is held in our local church basement which is less than a block from home. I've talked a couple of girlfriends into doing this with me, so now I have NO excuse not to go!

"Bring romance novels to Haiti."

Tuesday, January 12, 2010 began as an ordinary day. In ten days I was leaving for Haiti, so I emailed my friend Catherine about meeting at the Hotel Montana. That afternoon, she wrote back, “Great, I’ll see you on the 25th, can’t wait!”
