NaNoWriMo is just around the corner, and I can't think of a thing to write. I don't have any characters pestering me to tell their story. I don't have any plots that are begging to be let loose on the page. I have lots of unrelated ideas, none of which seem worthy of an entire book.

If you're an author, a writer, an aspiring writer, or someone who just wants to write a novel someday, what are some of the things that keep you from writing? Here are a few of mine...

I haven't been doing a very good job keeping up with blogging the books I've read. I know I've been busy, but this is ridiculous, especially since it's for a good cause: literacy. I'll try to do better. Right after I enter that next contest.

We're having a terrible storm.  Right now watching our CBS station.  If this were happening tomorrow, we wouldn't have it, because we'll need an external antenna to get it on DTV, if it will even come in then.  I understand that it's a bandwidth issue, which is why they're making everybody do this, but still...  Does anyone know which band DTV is located?  60 meters, maybe? 

If you're a published or pre-published author, what do you do when you're planning a series?  What are the first steps you take?  Do you ever write one book that then turns out to have such a great setting that you decide to write another and then go through the first manuscript looking for things to include in the next one?

I've been thinking about what makes people buy or read certain books and decided to come up with a romance questionnaire.  You don't have to comment on it if you don't want to, but I'm certainly interested i your answers.  If not here, maybe we can discuss it on the social boards!

They couldn't have picked a more beautiful place to hold it.  I haven't been inside the hotel & convention center yet, but it looks fabulous even from the outside.  I don't know about you, but I'm already making plans to save up for next year's convention.  I love Nashville!
