e-book reader?

So I'm asking for an e-book reader for Christmas. I love the look of
the Sony, but the Kindle's what I hear about all the time. I realize
I''m a little behind the tmes just now getting into the digital book
age, but it took me a while.
Now I've got to figure out where to go, what to get, what I want. I think I want (need) a back light.

TV Wars

DD moved away to school, so you'd think the TV wars would be over. But no. See, I have a few shows to DVR:
The
Closer and Raising the Bar are on Monday. DH is fine with those.
Actually, he pretty much leaves the room. I think Gossip Girl is on
Mondays too, now, but I can catch it later if I have to.
Tuesday is blockbuster night.

What do you get when...

you cross a severely ADHD journalism adviser with a broken ankle, a wheel chair and an ugly black boot?
A depressed journalism adviser by the end of the day.
:-(

I will survive?!?

At 8:30 this morning I got a call. It's DD. Her words: "Hey Mom. Are you near a computer?"

Me, waking up and wondering what's going on: "No."

Her: "Okay. Well, we'll figure something out."

Me: "What's going on?"

Good News

I cried again about five minutes ago because the book I originally wrote for DD, so she would actually read one of my stories, finaled in the Mollies!!!!

I was fine...

until we got to the Flying J two miles from my house.
For some
reason, pulling in to the gas station  we always stop at after long
trips got to me. I started crying, and I can't seem to stop. She's at
school. Five hours away. But I feel very empty.

Day 2 and Oh Dear God!

I'm going to have to figure this school thing out. Today was another
bad day. I kept the leg up more, but it still hurt like heck. I left a
little earlier and then I went to my first day of outpatient physical
therapy. All it was was the evaluation. Barely any movement at all, and
when I got home, I thought I was going to die. The outside knob of the

Back to school

And I'll admit it. I'm a little nervous. This will be the first time
I'm expected to be UP all day. Since the accident I've always been able
to stop as necessary and put my foot up so it would stop swelling. It's
teacher work week with lots of in-service and some decent work in the
classroom time, and I've got tons to do. I should've been working on

The Shack part 2

The more I think about The Shack (reviewed earlier this week), the more I'm disturbed by a lot of its theological message. It's presented in such a way that I missed some of the more controversial aspects. The book pretty much takes modern Christianity and throws it away, but it does so in such a way, you almost don't realize it because so much of what is presented is true.

Out again and the book of Esther

Made it to church today. Out of the house for four full hours with another two-hour trip planned for later. Woo Hoo.
So today's message was all about Esther. If I was in charge of teaching Esther, I'd spend a week at least on the beginning.
