Well, it happened. After going literally for years without getting sick, I came down with a killer cold last week. Not the flu or any of the illnesses we keep hearing about on the news... Just an old-fashioned, still can't shake it cold.

I figured there would be several Halloween blogs going around right now, so I thought I’d blog about another reason why this is my favorite time of the year. As I’ve mentioned before, I live in Arizona, so October is the first of our good weather following long, hot summers. In the past few weeks, I’ve finally been able to get back outside and complete projects that came to a halt once the temperature hit 100-degrees.

One of those projects is the planter in the picture. I finished it last spring, but by then, it was already getting hot, and anything I planted would likely die. So I waited and waited and waited…

Last year at Nationals, I told my roommate (who already had plans) that I was going to go hang out in the bar. She asked if I was meeting a friend, and I told her no, I was just going by myself.

I have to admit that, despite reading and writing romance, I LOVE a good horror story. Not movies so much any more because anything rated R will likely be too gory for my taste. I'd rather stick to TV shows--like Supernatural.

Before I was published, I heard all kinds of rumors of rules and regulations and laws not to be broken. Even if you don't write romance, my guess is that you too have heard some of these always/never scenarios either from published friends or on the boards.

I went to my local RWA chapter meeting on Tuesday, and the speaker was a photographer who was there to explain about her packages for photographs for website and promotions, etc.

Tonight is the first night of a dog agility class I've signed up for. This is something totally new to me, and I have to say neither myself nor my dog are particularly agile. So it could be an interesting eight weeks.

I signed up because I was looking for a way to get out and be more active, and if I could bring my very social, very fun-loving dog, all the better!

I like to think I'm normally pretty happy and certainly not the kind of person who looks for the bad in any given situation. However, I have noticed, at least when it comes to my writing, that when the pressure is on--I freak out. Even to the point of freaking out when the news is good.
