I'm Not Going to Make It

This is my first full day back of work since my dd has been sick. I'm not going to make it. It's 1:20 and I should be going home at 1:30, but I have to stay until 4:30 today. I knew this day was coming, but I'm ready to go home now. I haven't worked a full day since early March. YellCrySealedFrown

Why can't I work part time forever and get full time pay? Tongue out

Rambling, Whining and Ranting

It’s time for my monthly rambling and I’ve missed a couple so I will try not to blab for too long. Laughing

It feels good to be back among the bloggers. With my daughter getting better everyday and more independent, I am finding more and more time to myself.

Still Reading but I've Been Away

My 17 y/o dd spent 17 days in the hospital and right now we are still pretty much homebound. I don't have computer access at home so I haven't had a chance to post any of my books. I can't read when I am stressed so I didn't get much read in the 15 days we spent in the hospital. I did read one book under the advice of my dd for the New to Me challenge - Romiette and Julio by Sharon Draper. It's a young adult book but I enjoyed the story. She has a long road ahead but she will be alright. Hopefully back to school next week with me back to work. Next time I get to computer I hope to catch up with my entries if only to list all my books read with ratings for now.

It's Time to Ramble - Reading List, Mini Challenge and Other Things on My Mind

I enjoyed the mini challenge this month. As you can see I was a little creative with some of my connections, but I it worked for me. I had read 4 books before the announcement of this month’s challenge and could not find a way to connect the first two, but the 3rd and 4th book connected showing a little of my creativity.

Today's Rambling

I have caught up with my January reads and now have 6 pending for February. I like the first mini challenge - One Leads to Another. I had 4 books read before the announcement of the mini challenge so not all will follow suite, but I can link the last two with some creativeness. Actually I will use a some creative ways to link other reads too - not just the name and title connections.

1.      Taming Clint Westmoreland – Brenda Jackson (Silhouette Desire) Feb 08

2.      Sweeter Than Revenge – Ann Christopher (Kimani Romance) Jan 08

3.      The Secret – Shirley Hailstock (Dafina Books/Kensington) Apr 06  leads to Texas Bluff because it deals with secrets.

4.      Texas Bluff – Linda Warren (Harlequin Superromance) Feb 08 Leads to Dancing on Sunday Afternoon with Linda

5.      Dancing on Sunday Afternoon – Linda Cardillo (Harlequin Everlasting Love) leads to One Summer in Italy because of the Italian connection

6.      One Summer in Italy – Lucy Monroe (Harlequin Romance) leads to the anthology Summer in Savannah which I am currently reading.

Next in line is Dream Chaser with the Sheri Whitefeather/Sherrilyn Kenyon connection.  I wanted to read it after Dancing on Sunday Afternoon claiming a dream connection due to a quote on the back of the book. I decided to wait and found a closer connection. I could also use the title of one of the stories: Under the cover of the Night and you dream at night. I think the first name works better.

I bought a book this weekend - Dream Chaser. I couldn't pass it up. Kroger's had it for 40% off the retail price. I also made a trip to Paperback Ect and traded 7 books for 3 ended up with a $2.51 credit. I have never had a credit before.  I think that's milestone to celebrate. Money mouth

I also took the time to figure out how to add pictures and updated all the blogs that would allow me to do so. I think I like it. Cool

and that's all I have to ramble about today. Laughing

Taking on this Personal Challenge

I thought about joining the challenge of reading more than I buy this year. After calculating what I have read vs what I have, I thought it was possible. That was before I received a special sale and was tempted to order more books.

Rambling about a Little Bit of Everything

My first goal was to keep up with my blog entries and not get too far behind. I'm not doing too bad. Right now I have 6 books needing to reviews:
