Navajo Tribal Policeman Luca Nakai is assigned to help in the investigations of two murders that have implications regarding Navajo beliefs. Besides being a tribal cop, Luca is the son of the shaman and a member of the super-secret Brotherhood of Warriors. Sheriff's Detective Valerie Jonas is a no-nonsense, I-believe-it-when-I-see-it type of cop and resents the intrusion of Luca into her case.
