Amanda Quick

The thing I like most about this book, like many of Quick's books, is the hero.  He amuses me.  And I love that he gets a wife from an agency that specializes in paid companions.  Is that like the Victorian equivilant of a mail order bride?

     I am so enjoying the various aspects of The Arcane Society stories:  Amanda Quick's historical veiwpoint, to Jayne Ann Krentz's contemporary tales and finally the Jayne Castle futuristic / fantasy adventures.  And JAK moves back and forth between eras seemingly with ease.  Loving all her work the way that I do it could be so... I'm guessing that the incomparable JAK isn't much of a by-the-seat-of-her-pants writer... not with all the to-and-fro-ing.  But never really knowing just when we'll be taken next in this series is one of its charms.
     This is another of her classic historicals and I loved every single word... high adventure, madmen, lots of paranormal activity and a steamy romance... I'm happy!
