Ann Aguirre

Corine Solomon is proprietor of a small shop in Mexico when her past comes literally knocking at her door. Chance, her former manager and lover, needs her help. His mother has disappeared, leaving behind only her purse and a pocket Buddha she constantly carries with her. Corine knows she can’t refuse to help, and so she turns her gift of psychometry towards the statue.

I had this book finished in a day. The author did a great job in creating her characters and setting. Corine Solomon is a kick-butt female with a unique gift of being able to touch something and be able to tell it's past and future. She is called a handler. Her ex boyfriend, Chance finds her in Mexico City and needs her help.

Ann Aguirre, BLUE DIABLO: a lot of fun, with a wonderful feel of Mexico and southern Texas throughout, and lots of excellent secondary characters (one extremely creepy, in a good way) I'll look forward to seeing in the sequel.

Grimspace

I wish there were more Sci-Fi titles with a strong romance story!

Up front, lest I be accused of hiding it, I know Ann Aguirre. I happen to think she’s fabulous and I talk to her pretty much daily via IM. I also happen to think she’s a really gifted writer and I’ve thought so before I IM’d her all the time.
