The Girl With the Golden Spurs

challenge_name:

This was my 1st book by Ann Major.  I found myself lost a few times as the  story line.  It left a lot out that came to involve all concern later on.  The story is good but it was not a smooth running story line.  It skipped too much or maybe too many players.  The mystery of the bad man was more real than the other parts of the story line.  hard to follow.

Amelia’s favorite Aunt has died and left her a chateau in France. Remy has sworn to bring it back into the family at any cost. When she names her price, he decides he is up to the task. What neither of them considered would be the combustible results of her request.

Major takes the reader on a fast-paced romp from Hawaii to France by way of London. She adds excitement and pathos into the story. This was a book I found hard to put down. Fortunately, two doctors’ appointments in one day left me with lots of reading time. Thumbs up.

Back Cover:

The beauty of Italy's Amalfi Coast made Regina Tomei throw caution to the wind— and spend the night in the arms of a gorgeous stranger. Except Nico Romano is actually a prince— heir to a monarchy, destined to marry a woman of royal blood.

Regina has no illusions that a working-class American like herself could fit into his world of power, palazzos and paparazzi. Their passionate affair must end when her vacation does. But Regina leaves Italy with more than just memories—she's carrying Nico's baby!

Favourite Scene:

“Were you going to show yourself to the whole world? You’re mine. Only mine.”

He moved toward her with the swiftness of a jungle beast. Seizing her, he picked her up and carried her to the bed.

“Mine,” he said fiercely.

“Always and forever, Nico, my darling.”

Her eyes were blazing as he stripped, flinging his formal clothes to the floor without a care.

“You win.”

Amelia Weatherbee just learned that her aunt had died and left her a chateau, a vineyard, and a Matisse. All of these had belonged to the de Fournier family until her aunt had married the comte who had died and she had inherited. Now her aunt has died and left it all to Amelia. Because of the way they had treated her aunt Amelia is not inclined to give/sell any of it back to the deFournier family.
