Hot For the Holidays Angela Knight, Lora Leigh, Anya Bast, Allyson James Jove 10/09
Really good and I enjoyed all the stories. The Knight is a Mageverse story and I love that series. The Lora story is a wolf breeds and I love that series too. I don't think I've ever read an Allyson James before and that was excellent with a bit of Indian lore that was interesting. I've read Anya before and like her stories too. NFM
Witch Fury
Sarafina is a very powerful witch with an untapped and untrained ability over fire. Unfortunately, she has no idea that she's a witch or has this power until she is kidnapped and a world she never knew existed is unveiled to her. The coven must rescue Sarafina before her powers can be corrupted. Theo manages to get Sara out of the clutches of the kidnappers, but can't seem to make her trust him.
Hot for the Holidays
I enjoyed three of the stories in the anthology. The fourth one by Anya Bast called "Sweet Enchantment" I could not get into the story. Two of the stories were a continuation of series that I have read in the past. Those were "Vampire Ball" by Angela Knight and " A Christmas Kiss" by Lora Leigh. They were hot. "A Little Night Magic" by Allyson James struck just the right note with me.
What Happens in Vegas...After Dark--four paranormal erotic short stories
Not a book I would have chosen myself, the stories are nevertheless entertaining. I received this book by mistake in my Harlequin book order and was intrigued as I have not read any of the Spice books.
steamy elemental witches
A steamy read, with plenty of tension in all its forms.
After a chaotic marriage and a rough divorce, all Mira Hoskins wants is stability and normality. But when sexy Jack McAllister enters her life, she discovers that what you want isn't always what you need.
Witch Blood
I picked this up in the hopes that it would be better than the first. It was slightly. But I did not care about the characters or their problems. And for me, that is a big problem in a book. The characters were two dimensional, the problem was too pat, and the world building was incomplete. I wish I hadn't spent the money on this one or Witch Fire. Won't spend any more on this author.
Witch Heart
Introduced in an earlier book (Witch Fire), Claire becomes the focus of Witch Heart. Taken to another dimension by her witch mother as a child, Claire becomes the hand-mistress to a powerful demon upon her mother's death. When another demon faction attacks Claire's Master, be hides his power in Claire and pushes her through a portal back to Earth.
Witch Fire
It took me a while to figure out why I wasn't terribly impressed with this book. It is underdeveloped. The world building seems to be incomplete as is the magic system. And while the characters are more developed, they still didn't seem like real people. I think the story had great potential, but needed a major edit and rewrite to make it a good book.
