I love this book. It was funny, educational and romantic. Every thing you want in a romance novel. Ms. Jenkins even helped increase my vocabulary. This book and the two associated with Vivid and Indigo allow you to learn little know black history facts without it being stuffy and boring.

A proposal she had no choice but to accept . . .

Vivid

I love this book, just like I like the prequal to this story Indigo. This is not a true series because the characters are only briefly meation in thsi book. If you read Indigo and then Vivid you will see some of the same characters in this book.

Indigo

This was my first historical romance novel and it was simply wonderful. I love it from beginning to end. It draws you in, educates and entertains you, what more could you ask from a novel.

Became a love she never expected . . .

Angry at being forced to turn her life upside down, Jewel never imagined that a white-hot passion would consume her once she and Eli became husband and wife. Sharing a bed has turned their prim friendship into a sensuous love affair . . . but when a woman from Eli's past returns to stir up trouble, he and Jewel will learn just how far they'll go to protect the precious gem of their newfound passion.

My thoughts coming: IMHO Beverly Jenkins and historical romance are synonymous. I have learned great things about my history all while reading a steamy romance novel. Imagine that! This book follows Vivid, a book I finally read last year after seeking a copy for years. Eli Grayson is a man who loves woman. He has not always made the right choices when it comes to them. After getting Jewel - a close friend since childhood - to pose as his wife to help him with a business deal, things don’t go as plan and they are forced into marriage. Surprisingly Eli is not as against the idea as Jewel. Eli sets out to seduce and woo his new wife and things are going well until Eli’s past comes back to hunt him.

Rating: Excellent

Rating System: Excellent, highly recommend!!!! Great book, a must read!! Really good, should read. Good when your TBR pile is low/empty. Not so good, read is there is nothing else to read or do.

Indigo

I was drawn in by this tale of bravery and strength.  Indigo is set back in the time when African Americans were still fighting for the right to be free.  If you want a tender, yet capitvating story, Indigo is definitely for you.  You know, I never thought I would like historical romances, but Mrs. Jenkins has definitely proved me wrong.

Wild Sweet Love

Teresa July is a hand full, let me tell you; it's a good thing Madison has a firm grip on her.  This is a very entertaining tale of life back in the day.  Ms. July is a reformed outlaw paroled to with a wealthy socialite.  Believe me her son Madion, whose a banker no less, definitely had an issue with this arrangement.

This is a wonderful book. Its basic premise is that Eli a Black Editor and writer of the Gazette is going out of business. He is trying to attract the interest of a black Publisher a Mr. G. W. Hicks. Mr Hicks prefers that the men in his employ be married.  It is this situation that compels Eli to ask a favor of longtime friend Jewel.
