It was okay, I can't beleive how some men are so slow on the uptake. It took him forever to figure out she was the one. The shame of it was that she was always in front of him. He did find out their was strength behind that pretty face. She found out that he was a man that wants to protect as well as love his woman.

Gavin went to jail because his father-in-law was involved in the construction of substandard buildings and when a man got injured and his f-i-l died, someone had to take the rap. Just before he went to jail he broke up with his wife so he never knew she was pregnant until years later when he sees his son in a supermarket.

Gavin and Annie's brief marriage resulted in a son, a child Gavin never knew about because he cut himself off from Annie after being sent to prison.  A chance meeting in a grocery store leads to the discovery of not only Gavin's child but of love as Gavin and Annie learn to know and trust each other again.

This book was hard to put down, always wondering what was going to happen in it next.  A true cinderella story from riches to rags back to riches. Wonderful love story
