Silent in the Sanctuary by Deanna Raybourn
The second Lady Julia story was just as fantastic as the first. Once again I couldn't put it down, and read it way too quickly. I don't want to say anything to give it away, so I'll just leave it at that and say that you have to read these books!
I can't believe how long I have to wait to get my hands on Silent on the Moor...March 2009!!
Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn
This book has been on my TBR pile for a long, long time. I'm glad I finally got around to reading it because it is FANTASTIC! It started off a bit slow for me, but I soon found myself unable to put the book down. Lady Julia is a great character, and Brisbane seems to be her perfect match.
Great debut, Deanna!
Silent in the Grave
After many recommendations, I finished reading this book in February. I really liked it, as I enjoy a good murder mystery. The characters were well described, and I liked the feistiness of Lady Julia and her chemistry with Brisbane. Silent in the Sanctuary is in my "to read" pile, so I am excited to see Lady Julia's story continue.
Silent in the Grave
Well, this was my thank you gift from EHQ for being one of the tirekickers. Thank you, Jayne.
From the blurb:
Silent in the Sanctuary
This sequel to Silent in the Grave is fantastic and even better than the first. Raybourn maintains high drama, intrigue and sexual attraction at tightwire tension throughout. Tears and laughter are to be had at the expense of the heroine, the irreverent and indomitable Julia Grey, which only endears her to us more. I love this series, and you will, too.
Silent in the Grave
Raybourn's debut novel is a stellar achievement in Victorian murder mysteries, skillfully painting the setting in bold, vivid strokes, while realisitically portraying a collection of quixotic relatives and strong-willed female characters. The sparks fly between the hero and heroine and the sexual tension between them is palpable.
Silent in the Sanctuary
I enjoyed reading Silent in the Sanctuary, by Deanna Raybourn even more than Silent in the Grave. Warning: spoilers ahead.
I really liked the setting for this story. The descriptions of the March estate were fascinating and helped to set the tone for the mystery.
Silent in the Grave
I just finished reading Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn, and I enjoyed it very much. It had all the twists and turns that are essential to a good mystery novel. The author's description of the setting and her careful use of historical details made the book very realistic.
SILENT IN THE SANCTUARY by Deanna Raybourn (Mira)
The first book hooked me so I had to read this second installment!
