Debby Giusti doesn't shirk in detail when she's describing the seamier side of life. She takes you right down into the heart of the story, the city and the hearts of the two main characters. She hooked me right in and kept the pace up while effectively balancing the action with the romance.

Jude Walker met Nicole when he was on his last leave.  They spent two weeks getting to know one another.  They spoke on the phone and emailed each other and he was sure they would marry when he returned.  However, right before his return Nicole email him and said, "don't try and find me".   Jude though does try and find her and he finds the address she has given him was the address

This book has one of my favorite settings—inner city House of Hope. I loved
