Favourite Scene: (good tension)
So I guess, where that was concerned, I took the easy way out.
'But,' she emphasised firmly, 'if I hadn't been madly in love with you I would never have married you. Roy and I would have gone back to England and found some kind of work.' She gave him a fierce glare. If he was worried she might demand half his wretched estate, then she could put him out of his misery.
She stumbled to her feet. Everything was going wrong. When they'd wandered down through the gardens this morning everything had been touched with magic, and now—
A commanding hand closed around her wrist, halting her attempts at a dignified flight, edging her back onto the seat beside him.
'You said, and I quote, that you were "madly in love" with me when we married—I believe you are lying because I saw no evidence of it.'
It was an accusation; of course it was. But gently said. His fingers slid away from her wrist.
In Name Only by Diana Hamilton (HP 1896)
Ok, I read this in April but missed reviewing it because I left the line blank in my Excel spreadsheet of reviews. I am now too lazy to go back and review this book in full. So yeah, in summary, I like Diana Hamilton, she's an author who gives a good passionate, high intensity story, while still staying pretty well clear of my ick factors, so I enjoy reading her books. Good balance of intensity without too much angst and ick. NFM
Virgin: Wedded At The Italian's Convenience

Virgin:Wedded at the Italian's Convenience by Diana Hamilton
A very quick read. The story flows well. Lily-sweet & caring but very naïve. Paolo-cold, arrogant, used blackmails & manipulations. Even though Paolo didn't 'buy' Lily, in a way, she allowed him to 'buy' her (for the good of her charity). Why Lily fell for Paolo(?) he didn't care why she was sad, he manipulated others for his own means. NFM

My Review:
She works for a charity, she goes to the hero for a donation, and she ends up as his pretend fiance to please his ill mother. After his mother's unexpected recovery, they need to further perpetuate the engagement. Soon the hero is lusting after her and sees a real marriage to the heroine as a very appealing and satisfying prospect. He sets about railroading her into marriage. She fights it because she knows his history with women: a failed engagement, a marriage that lasted a matter of months, and a string of casual affairs. He seems the type to bore quickly and she doesn't think she could survive it.
