Diane Pershing

     Oh this was a great story!  One of the very first scenes still leaves me chuckling ~ rather like a loon I'm afraid ~ but it just defined the whole of the interactions between Hallie and Marc throughout the story:  Hallie doing the very unexpected, and Marc reacting in very, to him, mysterious ways. 
     The humour is rich and tasty while the problems facing Hallie and Marc are, very often, vexing in the extreme.  But once again Diane Pershing has written a story that is very much character-driven ~ and what wonderful characters they are!  
This is another fantastic example of just why Diane Pershing rates so high on my favourite authors list.  VERY, VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

     I was at one of the annual book sales this past weekend ~ I actually had to be talked into it... I was trying to be good and not add any more books to my bulging TBR shelves, tottering piles, etc.  But my dh told me I should at least check it out.  Well, 70 books (or so) later, I had checked it out quite thoroughly ~ and had loads of fun too.  Hey, it's always fun spending time looking at books... especially when the price is right!

   Anyway, I found a lot of harlequin and other category romances, many unread and brand-new, and among the treasures ~ half a dozen were books that I've been long looking for... YAHOO! ~ was this Duets book with a story by Diane Pershing.  This author hit my favourite and autobuy list after one story during last year's challenge, so finding another of her works was quite exciting.  It's not a suspense like her more recent books, but humourous instead ~ and every bit as entertaining as anything of hers that I've read.
     Yes, there's a lot of humour in this story, but there is also an emotional journey.  Two seemingly disparate people, both with full, active lives and who both discover, upon meeting each other, that there was a gaping hole in their lives.  Wonderful, tender and heartwarming romance ~ another excellent story by a terrific author.  HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I absolutely loved this book. All that I want in my suspense.  A fiesty heroine, a strong hero and a sick villian.

My first try with this author and I loved this book. Shannon Coyle is a do- gooder kind of lawyer. She always seems to have some cause for justice that she is fighting for.
