I loved the story it was funny and crazy with lots of surprises.  I would highly recommend it.

While I am trying to get ready to move I've been relying on some older books I have in the TBR pile.  It is kind of fun to see how the books are holding up to the test of time!

That said I am going to cheat as I am in crunch time for more packing, physically moving, etc.  The following is copied from the back cover of the book:

After Darke is book 2 in the “Cooper’s Corner” series. Protagonists, Jaron and Bonnie have witnessed murder and are now on the run. It’s naïve, sweet country mouse meets jaded city mouse on a blind date. She doesn’t like him, much and he doesn’t like her, but awareness is unaccountably present. When they feel threatened, the delightfully assertive country mouse scampers off with the city mouse to her milieu. After all, she has a plumbing job to do and was only in the city to find some vintage parts. She drags him along, wisely insisting that he change is very well known appearance, arriving back in Cooper’s Corner. They end up at the B and B that is a prominent fixture in this series. 

 MacAllister tells a good story that keeps this reader wanting to turn the page. The big ‘ah-ha’ moment for Bonnie happens late in the story, but it has a very natural, not forced feel to it. The ‘ah-ha’ moment for Jaron happens close to the end of the book and, although I am so tempted to say under what circumstances due to the interesting symbolism, I won’t because it might be a bit of a spoiler. But let’s just say I love the symbolism. Despite the fact that I don’t generally like books that have guns and fear as part of the plot, I find myself enjoying the series.
