An oldie!  Check the date!!!

     Hot, HOT, HOT and very sexy, this story took me on a roller-coaster ride that I did NOT want to get off.  There's often a fine line between humour and ridiculousness, but Jayne Castle (aka Krentz) knows exactly how to tread it.  And she combines it with dazzling psy powers, hunky alpha males, scorching romance and characters who believe in loyalty and honour and live their lives accordingly. Then there's the dust-bunny called Elvis with all the requisite rock-and-roll accoutrements... c'mon that's just F-U-N!
 AND...  Dust-bunnies RULE!

Clara finds herself the center of investigations, while her family are busy redirecting the investigators. They are trying to protect her. Yeah they think she did it.

So glad that both Jake & Clara characters are portraid as solid, sensible humans.

A family owned business, a family member trying to make ago of his family business, a investor and an a consultant doing what he does best for the business to keep it from going under.  Than we have a thief and revenge to be worked out between all.  This is a fast paced novel and a great read.

It's another re-read, actually, but I was putting a bunch of JAK titles on my shelf and skimmed a lot, and re-read this one the most! I remember this as one of the first "big" sexy contemporary romances I read and how much I wanted more of them!

Good Book!

     I am so enjoying the various aspects of The Arcane Society stories:  Amanda Quick's historical veiwpoint, to Jayne Ann Krentz's contemporary tales and finally the Jayne Castle futuristic / fantasy adventures.  And JAK moves back and forth between eras seemingly with ease.  Loving all her work the way that I do it could be so... I'm guessing that the incomparable JAK isn't much of a by-the-seat-of-her-pants writer... not with all the to-and-fro-ing.  But never really knowing just when we'll be taken next in this series is one of its charms.
     This is another of her classic historicals and I loved every single word... high adventure, madmen, lots of paranormal activity and a steamy romance... I'm happy! 
                 VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This is a library download that has been sitting around for awhile and finally called to me. I really enjoyed the first one and I liked this more as it brought the Arcane Society into the present. Clare is a sensitive and can tell when anyone is lying. So she knows her half-sister is telling the truth when she says she didn't kill her husband. Very Good NFM
