How to Trap a Highland Lord

Karen Hawkins sits next to me at the Literacy Signing at RWA (Hartman, Hawkins, etc.). Last year I read the backs of the books she was signing, got to know her a little bit, and determined I needed to read something of hers. Of course I put it off until the plane ride to SF, but I really enjoyed it. I can see myself trying another one of hers soon!

I haven’t read a historical in months. I used to love Karen Hawkins’ novels, but this one isn’t her best.

I am a sucker for childhood friendships that turn in to love so I adored this book.

Venetia Oglivie is a headstrong heroine who thinks she can fix everything for everyone. Lord Gregor MacLean is her friend who doesn't try to help anyone but himself. Gregor has to rescue Venetia from her incompetent captor and then they are stuck in an inn in a snowstorm.

How to Abduct a Highland Lord

I absolutely loved this book!  I had never read this author before and truly enjoyed her.  The Maclean family is hilarious and inspiring.  I can't wait to read the rest of the series.  This one is about the lone girl in the Maclean family, Fiona, trying to stop a family fued by marrying Black Jack Kincaid.

A must read.
