Kay David
DISAPPEAR by Kay David, HS #1074 Aug 02
Bk #99--My thoughts: Good book. The storyline was excellent. And although the ending turned out...as good as could...it wasn't quite the HEA I felt the heroine really deserved.
Baby of the Bride
I loved this book. I love the fact that Paul married Rachel just so she could keep her baby, not because he wanted to marry her because he loved her. I also believe it was the perfect way to tell Rachel that he had loved her all these years there at the end.
Safe in his arms
Quite the hunt to see if the leading lady is the killer or not. It pulls you in right from the beginning and in the end leaves you with a wow~!!
128. Kay David ~ The Listener ~ HSR #985 (May 2001) ~ "The Guardians"
THE GUARDIANS… This time the good guys wear black.
While the LIstener is not an actual member of the SWAT team, she is vital to the health of all the members and, consequently, to the team itself. But what happens when the Listener needs someone to listen to them? Well, in Maria's case, she fights it pretty much all the way. She has a hard time turning off her training even when dealing with the actions of a troubled teenager ~ her teenager.
Ryan is, of course, sexy... and maybe not as troubled as it appears. Yes he has some pretty major issues to deal with, but he doesn't need a therapist as much as he needs a reason to reach out; a reason to reach past his pain and his lonelieness; a reasone to reach out to be needed by someone else.
Good relationship building between not only Maria and Ryan, but amongst many of the secondary characters. This story definitely lives up to the saying "No man is an island."

THE GUARDIANS.... This time the good guys wear black.
I love stories with police, firefighters, marines, soldiers, SEALs and so many more... guys in uniform.... mmm mmmm mmm.
I liked this story... I loved Beck Winters... wow, he can negotiate with me ANYTIME! Well, in my imagination anyway. I have tons of respect for anyone who puts their life on the line, day after day. These men and women are doing what they see as a job, but in many ways I think is more of a calling. Dedicating your life to protecting others... sounds like hero material to me. And Kay David does a marvelous job showing just what the members of this SWAT team go through. Granted, there is a lot of downtime, but when the action's on, it's on 100%... and the officers have to be too.
The only "problem" that I had with this story was the heroine: it was purely a personality conflict all the way. Jennifer had her reasons for holding onto her misconceptions and tarring Beck with the same brush, but I felt that she just held onto them too long. But that's just me... she was not whiny per se, but definitely verging on it... glad she figured it out.
