Ken Casper
A Nascar Holiday 2
Really quick reads. Good story lines. Heartfelt stories in few words.
Speed Bumps (NASCAR May-07)
This is a NASCAR fairy tail, but a good one.
HITTING THE BRAKES by Ken Casper NASCAR 6/08
Will the sudden illness of PDQ Racing’s team owner be an obstacle in which the team can recover or is this just one public relation nightmare in which Anita Wolcott has to play the spin game?
Upstairs at Miss Hattie's by Ken Casper (HEL #15, Sep 07)
This was about grandparents and their grandson and his wife . . . the young wife has a past that could hold back the grandson in his career and so she thinks that they should divorce. The grandmother sends the guys to town and from there we get the story of how the grandmother became a prostitute at 16 y.o. in order to feed her family prior to WWII and how the grandfather loved her and served in WWII. The POV varies from the grandma telling the young wife and the grandpa telling his gson, so many incidents told from both perspectives. The love between the grandparents was amazing. The story unfolded nicely and had a funny twist at the end. I enjoyed it but wish it had pulled me in more. The descriptions were fantastic, though, and really made me think about that older generation. NFM
Speed Bumps - Ken Casper (H Nascar - May 07)
Series: NASCAR
Star NASCAR driver Gabby O'Farrell can't believe her mother is harping at her again. How many times does she have to say it? She's not going to help run the family's corporation. She's not shopping for a husband of the right pedigree. And there's no way she's ever going to give up racing!

Hitting the Brakes - Ken Casper
Another really good NASCAR book. This was my favorite of the 4 I have just finished, I think. Jim and Anita are a good combo and Billy was a neat kid and reaslly accepting of Anita too.
Speed Bumps
This was a great book! I just loved all the Nascar details in it, I learned stuff I didn't know or quite understand in this book. I loved how the characters developed from a working relationship to a personal relationship. This book was totally awesome! Can't wait for another one!!
#182 A NASCAR Holiday 2 by Ken Casper, Gina Wilkins, Pamela Britton, Abby Gaines (HQN)
Four short Christmas stories. In one a driver has to choose between continuing charity work or returning to driving, and then worry how his new girlfriend will react. Another has a driver in love with his sponsor's marketing VP but after his disastrous season what would happen to their romance if his sponsor dropped his contract?
#17: A NASCAR Holiday 2, Briton, Wilkins,Casper & Gaines, HQN Christmas 2007
Score: 3 1/2
I've not been reading the other NASCAR books and can't say I"m a big race car fan.. I prefer race horses frankly! I found this anthology mixed but I know that it has been highly reviewed by others, so take my review with a grain of salt, I suppose. I just found the heros somewhat self-centered and less than endearing.
