I was never big into horses when I was a young girl, but I found myself going ahead and ordering this continuity. I'm glad I moved away from my usual type stories with this collection of books. I am enjoying them. This story takes the reader to the west coast and focuses on the vet involved in the mystery. For this reader the story unfolded in an evenly paced manner, not rushed or too slow.

Carter Philips is the veterinarian for Quest Stables and he is looking for answers. When some of the Quest horses head to the west coast to run at Del Mar he accompanies them. He spies a painting of a horse that could be Leopold’s Legacy at an auction. Placing the winning bid buys the painting and the right to meet the beautiful artist, Gillian Cameron. What will come of the meeting? Do they find answers into the deepening mystery surrounding LL and Quest stables, or do the find more questions?

# 3 of the Thoroughbred Legacy books and a really interesting and twisted story. This was my first by this author and I really enjoyed Kristin Gabriel's writing. She really put me into the story and all the side stories too. Carter, I liked even from earlier stories and Gillian was well developed. Loved the ending with Herman and Shirley!

Really enjoyed this book!!!  I didn't realize I had bought all 4 in the series and I started with this one.  But I don't think I missed a thing!  There was enough romance and a little suspense to keep the story moving at a great pace!
