A Masterful Man by Lindsay Armstrong
Back Cover:
"I've never yet met a woman I couldn't live without!"
But that didn't mean Steve Warwick wasn't interested in the opposite sex. On the contrary, he made it quite clear to Davina from their first meeting that he wanted her in his bed. Davina had other ideas. The last thing she needed right now was a tough, arrogant male who thought he could organise her life for her. And if that meant trouble in this South Pacific paradise she was all prepared for it!
My Review:
She comes to work for him as a housekeeper because his female relatives are about to descend on him for a month long visit. He needs her to take control and difuse the tension. They are instantly attracted to each other. His reaction to learning she's his new housekeeper is "oh hell, YOU are Mrs. Hastings?" She married a 40 year old ruthless businessman to get her parents out of financial difficulty, the marriage was a disaster and she divorced him. That marriage comes back to haunt her in this book because the ex is famous and she gets recognized by tabloid reporters. She eventually gives in to the hero's pursuit despite her hang ups.

Back Cover:
A mousy music teacher, Maisie's hardly a seductive siren. But her lack of worldliness turns her life upside down, and, abandoned and alone, she knows she has to confront the man who deceived her….
Rafael Sanderson is rich, successful and a master of marriage avoidance. He's never seen Maisie before, but she seems to think she knows him. And even though it's his rule never to get involved, this time he's compelled to make this waif his wife!
My Review:
This was a creative story, haven't seen a pregnancy plot done this way before (she's pregnant by another man - his cousin who was angry at the hero and used his identity). I liked the friendship and tenderness that developed between the hero/heroine. I liked that it was naturally progressing and seemed to be enduring.

She's a rich girl who's now poor. She meets this guy on a rainy day and they get in a car accident. She meets him again by chance four years later…ends up working for him as a cook. They are in lust. He proposes a convenient marriage based on similarities with the ulterior motive of marrying to secure his rights to his home.
Rating: 4/5 stars, too bad they didn't put moves on each other four years ago, but they got it right this time!

A Careful Wife by Lindsay Armstrong (Presents November 2001 165)
Honor was convinced Ryan Bailey was looking for a "careful', suitable wife. She was equally certain he'd never consider her an ideal candidate! And she was glad. Getting involved with Ryan would be a bad idea. For another, he clearly wanted someone meek and obedient.
