Lisa Jackson

I love the thrill of the horse race track.  A handsome guy walks in to by Tiffany's horse farm and claims that the last great horse she bred is still alive.  We have a mystery to solve and a horse to find and whom do we trust.  What did her dead husband and his brother really do. 

A spoiled daughter, engaged to the wrong man.  She tries to take charge of her destiny.  We also have Adam Drake, trying hard to clear his name.  He was sent up and he must prove his innocent.

Lisa Jackson's Sail Away illustrates that money and priviledge do not insure happiness and contentment.  Her character struggles to find and make her own life her own.

Every eye in the great hall was on Lady Apryll.  In a clinging white gown, she floated through the revelers like a wanton angel, inflaming the interest of Lord Devlynn.  Brazenly he took her in his arms and promised her ecstasy. Before the night was over, she vanished along with the castle jewels, the lord's finest horses and his young son. 

This isn't that riveting of a romance.  It sort of just skims around it to me.  However, it's a terribly compelling mystery.  I liked Abby and Montoya.  Both are likable and believeable.  Abby's inability to let go her mother's past is poignant and understandable.  Montoya is as tenatious as a bulldog but, like, less slobery.  I could have used a little more love but the rest of the book ma
