Another entry into the excellent and amusing mystery series by M. C. Beaton featuring Scottish Constable Hamish MacBeth, whose sole aim in life seems to be to avoid promotion so he can stay in the village of Lochdubh instead of being transferred to the busy police station in Strathbane. (And who's to blame him, with the thickheaded DCI Blair in charge?)
