Pam Jenoff
The Diplomat's Wife
After finishing The Kommandant's Girl, I couldn't wait to dive into The Diplomat's Wife. I was really interested in reading about Marta's continuing story, and her version of the events that occured in The Kommandant's Girl.

The Diplomat's Wife (May 2008)
Having recently read The Kommandant's Girl, I was so excited to have the opportunity to read The Diplomat's Wife immediately after. This book was fantastic, I don't even know if my review will do it justice. The Kommandant's Girl was action packed with romance thrown in, this one is so much better!
The Diplomat's Wife -- on sale May 2008
Ever since I was a young girl, probably around the age of 11 or 12, I've been fascinated with stories set in and around the Second World War. I remember the first time I picked up Anne Frank's Diary. I was probably about her age, perhaps a bit younger, and to this day, still have the "I can't believe this happened in this century!" feeling.

Wow! That is all I can say about this book. The book takes place in Poland during WWII, it is about a Jewish girl named Emma who leaves her husband, home, family and friends to survive the Nazi occupation over Poland. Her husband, Jacob, is a member of the Resistance (a group made up of Jewish people and others who want to do as much as they can to help the Jewish community survive through this and attempt to overtake the German/Nazi rule) and arranges for Emma to live with his Catholic aunt (Krysia) and take on the life of a Polish girl named Anna.
