Enjoyed it very much!  The Egyptology aspects were really well done!

She fell in love with Reid when she helped him catalog the Uncle's archeological finds, a job she was good at but had to do in addition to catering to the every need of the elderly Aunt Millicent. .  

This book is a fascinating look at the years just prior to the turn of the century when treasures were being discovered in the pyramids along the Nile. It's a sweet and warm love story of 2 people who find love despite their different stations in life.

 Following his uncle's footsteps, Reid Gallagher has embraced the new field of archaeology. He's only back in England while red tape is hashed out with the politicians but he'll be going back to Egypt very soon. He's lonely but he's still loyal to his wife although he's been a widower for 10 yrs already.

If you like fast moving story lines--this book isn't for you.  What kept reading this slow paced story was my curiosity as to how Maddie and Reid finally get together.  After the mid point of the book, the pace picked up.  Then, Lady Haversham's and Vera's cruelty toward Maddie kept me reading until the end.  I was glad to see Reid "rescue" his lady.
