Cade's adoptive father sends him to find Tess, Del's granddaughter. Tess has no idea she has any family, let alone a ritch grandfather. She's more than reluctant to believe Cade or Del having learnt early in life that the only person she can count on is herself.

I thought it an interesting play to have the hero's almost jealousy over not being considered enough of a son to be one of the conflicts. Though I thought it a bit hard that the Del would not have contacted Tess sooner, I enjoyed the relationship and dynamics among the three of them. (MTH)

I usually lose patience when there is a constant bickering between the 2 main characters.  Cade was jealous of Tess, how petty.  I don't see love & HEA for them. NFM

Creepy brother alert! Seriously, the hero's only flaw was that he let his brother run into town instead of knocking him senseless. perhaps he did that off the page...will have to read the next book with this family to find out...fingers crossed!
