Water for Elephants
Truly, my only complaint with this book was that I read Like Water for Chocolate years ago, and everytime I went to pick up this book I kept thinking Like Water for Elephants.
Water for Elephants
A literary novel about an old man who remembers his youth, when he worked for a traveling circus as a vet.
Very engrossing read about a circus, a love affair, human foibles. It's all bookcased by the man "today", in an assisted living facility, remembering the events that occured in his youth. Recommended.
water for elephants
Narrated by a now elderly man, Water for Elephants tells the story of his days in a travelling circus during the Great Depression. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and read it in almost one sitting (staying up late to finish it).
Water for Elephants - another fan!
Jayne did such a good job of describing this book, so I won't even attempt that here. I will say that I LOVED it. It was such an amazing story, and so well told.
Riding Lessons
I have recently become the lady who does the book give aways at my chapter of RWA and the president told me that one of the benefits of the job is that I get to read all the donations until its time to give them away. There's a lot of different stuff in there, some of it in genres I never read. So I decided to try and expand my reading horizons by reading everything in the bag.
Water for Elephants
I had a hard time remembering the name of Water for Elephants. Somehow, I kept confusing the title in my mind with the movie title, Like Water for Chocolate, and ended up thinking that I had to read ''Chocolate for Elephants" for my bookclub group.
