Morgan's Secret Son

1

The hero is so afraid of loosing his son (that he just found out was his by the heroine's step mother) that he doesn't let her see her exstranged father who is in the hosptial. Found that very disturbing. She came all the way to recosile with him and may not get to do so cause her father is critical, and she wimpiningly agrees. Would have gone to the hospital anyway.

Southern Passions by Sara Wood (HP 1715)

Very very good!  They were lovers, he went to prison, he came out and married her friend (because he thought she'd had his child).  The heroine comes to him years later when his marriage is splitting up because she must find his daughter.  (there's a secret about the child)  The heroine walks right into his life and passion just flares between them.  Somewhat skeezy how he'd been with her and two of her friends within a month or two years ago!  Icky.  But I'd read it again for the passion between the H/h.

They knew each other six years ago.  He got the impression that she chose to be an older man's mistress.  Her reputation was publicly in shatters.  Now years later, the "old lover" (her father) is dead and she's in a new career and needs the business help of the hero.  He is obsessed with her and wants her back even though her morals disappoint him.  He makes a lot of barbed sexual innuendos.  He doesn't realize she was the daughter of the old man and is still innocent.  The hero is a bit too preoccupied with morals for my comfort.  Great passion drawing them together though.

Her sister ran off with his brother: she comes to the hero's island to cover for the sister.  He punishes her instead, making her stay until the sister returns, thinking she's just as trampy as her sister.  Funny at times.  Highly tense and passionate.  A good intense read.

Threat of Possession by Sara Wood (HP 1302)

Sexy and hilarious!  This book started off amazingly well: with the heroine playing a part and teasing the hero.  I couldn't stop laughing and the passion that flared between them seemed so natural and good.  Then she inherits the home that should be his: there's a murky plot about their mothers and lies that were spread about the hero, which threatens to ruin the believability of the story, good that it stayed in the background.  The heroine is tormented by someone trying to scare her off the property: it's his unstable sister and the sister's manipulative boyfriend.  There's a somewhat silly use of amnesia to move the plot along, but it's fine in the end.  A very satisfying story.
