There was a lot of fascinating information about the original Amber Room packed in among a thrilling series of narrow escapes and chase scenes.

An engrossing read, full of surprises. At times, for me, it almost moved too quickly, with brief scenes and frequent changes in point of view that made it difficult, at first, to get pulled in. That problem didn't last, though, and the book is to blame for a couple of sleep-deprived days.
