Susan Fox

This is a March 2003 Harlequin Romance and I guess I would categorize it as a marriage-in-jeopardy story. It's sooo good. I love Susan Fox's heroes. In this book Gabe is the kind of man who makes a vow and keeps it no matter what. (I love him already!) He's earthy, sexy and alpha, but he's gentle and tender with the woman he loves.

I pulled this oldie out the other day and decided to read it, expecting that after almost 20 years it would not have the same pull on my heart that it did when it was first published. Imagine my surprise when I found actual tears pooling in my eyes. This timeless tale is not dated at all!

Fay Sheridan was still grieving for her 2 younger brothers
that had died in an accident. So much so that she took risks with her life
through apathy. Her outgoing personality was now withdrawn  and her neighbour Cade  had been interfering getting her back into

Madison St John appeared to be a spoilt, glamourous
socialite. This covered her immense loneliness and vulnerability after being
abandoned by her mother. In desperation to meet her elusive mother after one of
her infrequent phone calls, Maddie manages to get a lift in  Lincoln Coryell’s private plane. The plane
crashes and they are  forced to hike

Although I liked the story and characters I found myself
quietly crying the heroine. Caitlin had 
been rejected by her father since her mother died when she was eight.
Later the rest of her family also rejected her as they blamed her for the death
