272. Janice Kay Johnson ~ His Friend's Wife ~ HSR #677 (Showcase) ~ 1/96
A very strong story about the pain family members experience when someone they love is suffering from a devastating mental illness. It's also a tantalizing and gripping mystery about the rash of arsons happening around Clare and her stepson. And then there's the passion between Jake and Clare ~ as well as the guilt that both have needlessly dealt themselves.
This story was far more than I thought it would be; but then that's happened to me before.
Janice Kay Johnson, as the 'About The Author' feature extols: "...her deeply emotional and involving stories have enthralled readers around the world."
How very true and this is definitely what keeps me hunting for the rest of her backlist books.

Red Hot Lover by Lyn Cash and The Boys Back Home by Sierra Dafoe
Two firefighters battle the hottest flames they’ve encountered—their attraction to one another.
Trial by Fire
Equal parts suspense and romance. Non stop action packed with the right amount of emotion and feeling. The characters are likeable and so real that you can't help but hope for a happy ending for all of them. Like all good writers Davis gives you enough information to guarantee you'll be looking for future stories of the heros of Station Five.

Beast in the Tower by Julie Miller (Harlequin Intrigue #966, He's a Mystery, 2007)
Pretty good. A keeper if I hadn’t borrowed it from the library.
