Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident (Book 2)
Book 2 of the hugely popular Artemis Fowl series. I thoroughly enjoyed it - fast paced, witty and a great read. Artemis has dealings with The People again - this time they think he's behind goblin attacks. But Artemis has his own problems - namely a ransom on his presumed dead father.

Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception by Eoin Colfer (Listening Library, 2005)
Fourth in the Artemis Fowl series. I highly recommend reading (or listening to) each of these books in order. This series is targeted at the 9-12 age group, but is appropriate (and fun!) for adults as well.
This audiobook was read by Nathaniel Parker, who does a wonderful job with all the voices.
