Atlantis

My first read by Gena Showalter, and I picked it up this month for the paranormal type theme - it being October and all.

This was a good story, although I enjoyed her earlier books more.

I absolutely LOVE this series. Hunky warriors, strong but fragile heroines, fantastic continutity in the storyline, dynamic character development and let's not forget the romance.

Second in Gena Showalter's Atlantis series, this novel uses the greed of men theory to get across a lesson in morals. Grayson is sent into Atlantis to recover a Jewel reputed to be of such power as to make its' holder invincible. But things are not what they appear to be and the Jewel that everyone is fighting over is not an it, it's a She.

My reading has slowed down just a bit due to a new hobby I've picked up. I've started making beaded bookmarks, also called book thongs, and have even started a site to sell them. I've gotten quite a few sales for 2 weeks and am moving on to beaded bracelets and keyrings and as soon as my sewing machine is fixed, fabric bookcovers. :) I'm so excited!

So Gena Showalter decided to take two of each creature in Atlantis and put them on an island. There they are divided into two teams to compete in a competition to discover which race in Atlantis is the strongest. The losing team must vote out one member after each competition, and that member is beheaded.

I kid you not. It's "Survivor" meets Atlantis.

So I read the first two in the series and absolutely loved them. The plots, the characters... All were excellent. I picked this one up, knowing it would be good because Hell-ooooo, it was written by Gena Showalter, but I had my doubts it would be as good as the others, because the hero is a nymph. Not just a nymph, but the Nymph King.

Grayson James is sent into Atlantis to obtain the Jewel Of Dunamis, a jewel that can see the future, and could be absolutely invaluable , or deadly, depending on whose hands it is in. Gray has orders to keep it out of the wrong hands--or destroy it.

Darius is the definitive Alpha male. A dragon shape-shifter, he guards one of the portals to Atlantis, a secret city under the sea where vampires, dragons, sirens, nymphs, demons, and some other beings live. A human army once entered Atlantis through one of the portals, killing many of these beings.
