IN BED WITH THE BOSS by Christine Rimmer SSE 7/08
Can a man overcome his past? Will past mistakes and misplaced trust always cloud his view?
Designs on the Doctor by Victoria Pade, SSE Aug08 #1915
Ally Rogers lives far from the home she grew up in, when the day came that she was called to return home to assist her mother she had decisions to make. Dr. Jake Fox could not understand why Ally lived so far away from her elderly parent and he found it hard to forgive her. Would they stand a chance of getting past their initial reactions to each other?
I enjoyed the book, but have no lasting impression that it was great. I’m sure that some will find it a wonderful read. I suspect it was a challenging topic for me as my mother recently passed away, following years of failing memory.

Tom Holloway has had a checkered work past, but he is sure that finally he has landed on his feet. Shelly, a single mom, needs this job and no complications; unfortunately (or fortunately) she falls in love with the boss.
I have to keep reminding myself to suspend my beliefs in order to read any boss/employee relationship stories. But this one was worth it. Rimmer makes the reader believe in the goodness of Tom and this reader wanted him to succeed with his job and with the girl, even if she is his secretary. Thumbs up.
