Barons of the Outback

Bride at Briar's Ridge

The second story from Margaret about the outback in Australia.  Daniela Adams comes to Australia to escape a bad situation in London only to meet the man  that turns her heart upside down.  Good story and fast read.

Wedding at Wangaree Valley

Story of the outback of Australia and the "old" families and the girl from the "wrong" side of the outback and not one of the "old" families.  Has a happy ending and it is a fun read getting there.  Margaret Way has good character interpretation.  Good way to get to "see" Australia.

Loved it! Fun story and so many little side tales. So many vidictive women. I am so glad that Vi lost out a second time and very happy that Lilli seems to have pulled away from that influence. We saw that with Rose in the first Barons book. Wangaree sounds like a nice place.

It is Linc Mastermann’s turn to find romance in the outback, but he has to avoid is conniving stepmother and two harpies. It is also Daniel’s turn for love, but first she has to outwit a stalker. Do they stand a chance of ever finding their HEA?

I loved Way’s last book, but this one missed the mark for this reader. I found at least 3 too many villains and way too much over-the-top drama in this book—for MY taste. I am sure that there will be plenty of Way fans that adore this book. Ultimately, I was very disappointed in a book I looked forward to. Thumbs down!

Guy Radcliffe is ‘The Man’ and he seems to have it all. Alana does not have is advantages, in fact, her family has been maligned in their society. How will they ever find common ground?

There is a richness and beauty to Way’s writing. If I had to pick one underlying emotion in the story, it would be poignancy. There were places were I felt like my heart was weeping at the beauty of her writing. I love her writing, or at least the writing in this book. Thumbs up!
