Betty Neels

THE SUBCONSCIOUS COURTSHIP by Berta Ruck [Other 36]

challenge_name:

Berta Ruck wrote romances in the 1920s, and this delightful author was probably a favourite of Betty Neels's.  In this authentic period romance, Mrs. Clover Elphinstone (a widow who was never a true wife) coldly plans a marriage with war hero Harry Carmichael.  At first reluctant to accept her proposal of a marriage in name only, she dangles an offer of help with his aeronautical invention.  Harry is still reluctant, but as Clover wants someone to help her get rid of the annoying young men always buzzing around her looking for money for this or that, he agrees, only to discover that a sham marriage to Clover is not what he wants at all...

Betty Neels Best of Series

I just love Betty Neels books.  I have been reading them since I was a teenager back in the 70's.  I don't see any upcoming Betty Neels books in the "Best of" series.  Does anyone know whether this series has been discontinued?

This is the story of a nurse meeting a large Dutch doctor and the Doctor falls in love.  What can I say, all of Betty Neels's books are like warm comfortable blankets that make one think of home.

Love the book!

A Valentine for Daisy

challenge_name:

One of my favorites and a must read on a snowed in weekend.  This is the story of a woman working in a Pre-School where the kids become sick from food poisoning and the uncle of two of the kids is a Dr, who's first name is Valentine.  One of my favorite books of Betty Neels.

Victory for Victoria - The Best of Betty Neels

challenge_name:

This is the story of a girl who thinks her three sisters are prettier and finds it hard to believe Dr. van S (Alexander is first name) is attracted to her.  She is a nurse, he a Dr. I love this book but there were times when both were acting as they needed a good shake.  She is too trusting but everything comes right in the end.

Again, I love Betty Neels books.

A GIRL IN A MILLION - THE BEST OF BETTY NEELS NOV 03

Caroline's Waterloo by Betty Neels (HR#2393, 1980)

challenge_name:

A typical lovely read from Ms. Neels. Caro is an English nurse on vacation in Friesland (Netherlands) and hurts herself in front of the country home of Baron Radinck Thoe van Erckelens (also a medical professor/doctor). He insists that she stays in his home until she's well but once she's gone, he misses her and goes to England to propose marriage.
