Okay, this book was weird. While reading it, instead
of thinking of the characters, I kept picturing a middle-aged British woman writing it at her typewriter. Why? Because of her writing style, I guess. Some of the phrases were more European than N. American. Also, things would crop up that should have been hinted at in previous scenes. This gave me the impression that the author used a typewriter instead of a word processor. So, in places where those of us writers who use a computer would pull up the required scene and make the adjustment, this author didn't...she'd just pop it in and keep writing. Inconsistencies abound. I think one example was when I sometimes read of David's accident being fifteen yrs before and then I'd read and it was twenty yrs before or something. Of course, I may be way off my mark, but this is the impression I got from reading this book.

If you like the modern day McKaslin Clan, then you’ll love
this book! It’s 1883 in Montanta Territory. Blind Noelle Kramer is struggling for independence. Five yrs ago, Thad McKaslin jilted her. Neither have recovered. Emotionally stuck in the past, they now meet again. Older, yes, but are they wiser?
