Continuing the saga begun in CRADLE OF SECRETS, Sonny Montgomery travels to Columbia to rescue her infant niece, Ellie, who was stolen from her mother, Serena.  Cash Montgomery, Sonny's brother and the baby's father, is missing.  After a harrowing rescue which Sonny barely escapes, she is stopped at the airport by Gil Waite, a bounty hunter who has been tailing her in hopes she'll lead him to Cash.  Her chance to escape unnoticed by the drug lord who kidnapped baby Ellie ruined, Sonny allows Gil to lead her out of the airport, and into more danger than she dreamed possible!

This is a great book! We all know that no one is infallible, but many people think that when you become a Christian, your brain is automatically washed and you never have another bad thought. That your hands never commit another bad act. That feelings of love overflow and you can't possibly dislike anyone, never mind hate them. But a Christian is still human with all the failings of our race. And it's an everyday battle to choose to walk the narrow path to heaven.

Beau Morgan is such a man. He believes in God - he might be angry with Him but he still believes. And, his best friend is a preacher. But he's filled with hate for the man who killed his wife six years ago. He can't shake the pain of her loss. Every time he closes his eyes, he sees her falling from the bullet that struck her down. And he's still trailing the guy after all these years. He's fixated on revenge.

I really enjoy listening to the Stephanie Plum stories during my commutes but I'm feeling bittersweet about having gotten up to number 13 in the series....they've been great, but at this point, there's only one more to go which is the new Fearless Fourteen before I either start all over again, or find someone else's adventures to get lost in to make the time fly by.

Awesome book!  I loved the rawness of the characters, the depth of reality in the time period, and the love story that was so intricately wove into the mix that it was just a piece of the story.

I've not heard of this author before, but I will definately be looking from now on!!!
