Hot August Nights, The Conference

The 2009 Romance Writers of Australia conference held the weekend before last was a sold-out super success. Also, fun. They say a picture speaks a thousand words and, frankly, any thousand words I write today belong in my story due next week. Hence, my blog today is a pictorial summary of favourite moments, events and Desireable people from "Hot August Nights."

Back from RWA

What can I say about conference!? It was jammed with activity, of course.  I met friends I only see once a year, talked with HMB editors, went to the Hqn spotlight where my cover was featured in a slideshow, and spent lots of time moving zombie-like through the public areas of the hotel.  After a while, sleep just becomes over rated.

Top Ten Cool Things about RWA National 2009

If you read or write romance and spend any time online at all, you probably know that the Romance Writers of America national conference was last week.  Most of us who attended are still recovering from masquerading as an extrovert, foregoing sleep and consuming enough chocolate to save a third-world country.

This year’s conference in DC rocked on so many levels!  The city was a great place to explore, the hotel was beautiful with wonderfully accommodating employees, and the conference events I attended were educational and inspirational.

RWA NATIONAL CONVENTION

I just got back from the Romance Writers of America (RWA) National Convention in Washington D.C. I brought back with me new friends, new experiences, interesting tidbits from all the authors and publishers, and laryngitis.

Conference Networking

I so enjoyed filming podcasts at the RWA Conference in Dallas, Texas at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.  I especially enjoyed my meeting with my editor, Susan Swinwood, about my next Spice release, Cleopatra's Perfume (a WWII drama about a mysterious perfume set in Cairo and Berlin ).
