Pros and Cons to eBooks

So, I read an eBook the last couple of days. Not my first . . . I started reading eBooks last year. There are many things that I like about eBooks but I will always love me my print books. Here, in no particular order, are the things that I do and don't like about eBooks (I read on dh's PDA using Mobipocket FWIW).

The Magic Tree House Books 1-4 by Mary Pope Osborne (unabridged audio)

challenge_name:

Four children's books combined to equal one full-length book for the auto-counter. All enjoyable reads with basic lessons. Okay for as young as age 4 (maybe even 3) but enjoyable to age 10 or so. Dinosaurs Before Dark; The Knight at Dawn; Mummies in the Morning; Pirates Past Noon. Read by the author, available from Random House and Listening Library. NFM

The Marriage Bed by Judith Arnold (HE, May 07)

challenge_name:

Joelle Webber and Bobby DiFranco have been married 37 years when Joelle's HS boyfriend shows up on their doorstep, asking that their dd be tested to see if she's a match to donate bone marrow for his dying son. Bobby and Joelle had been best friends since elementary school, so when Joelle became pregnant and her ex-boyfriend gave her $1000 and the name of a doctor to perform the abortion (still illegal in 1970, not to mention not something Joelle could bring herself to do), she and Bobby got married. The problem is, Joelle and Bobby have never told their dd that she's not

Burning Up (Blaze #380)

Spending a month as personal chef for an overindulged--and mouthwatering--man?  Sophie Gallagher is so up for the challenge.  She's immune to charm . . .or so she thinks.  Because when big-screen star Lucas Grant turns up the temptation, she discovers--up close and personal--he's earned the name hottest man alive.

The Hollow by Nora Roberts

This is the second book in the Signs of Seven trilogy. I loved it. But I knew I would. It has creepy scenes where good fights evil, as well as the developing relationship between Fox and Layla. I just hate that we have to wait until December to get the third and final book in this series.

Dangerous To Touch

challenge_name:

This is the first book by this author and while it is very well written and the story line had a great premise I did not like most of the characters.   I will give her another try when another book comes out.   Just a note that this is a little more edgy than most SRS books so it will not be for everyone.

M is for Malice

challenge_name:

"M" is for money.  Lots of it.  "M" is for Malek Construction, the $40 million company that grew out of modest soil to become one of the big three in California construction, one of the few still in family hands.

Danger Signals - The Taken

challenge_name:

This is the first of a 4 book series about siblings broken apart after their parents died.   The oldest son was in an earlier book that is part of the Starrs of the West series.  I have not read that book but this one stands alone.

A Groom in Her Stocking by Barbara Dunlop (Harl. Duets #90, Dec 02)

challenge_name:

A funny, delightful read about Lindsey Parker, who is spending Christmas with her mother at the resort/lodge of old family friends in the Yukon, and RJ, one of the hostess' many brothers. Lindsey lived there until she was 16. Zany cast of characters including a great-aunt who makes accurate predictions about people's love lives and the stock market, annoying cousins, a widowed mother finding love again . . . and Lindsey and RJ. RJ drove Lindsey crazy in one way while they were growing up and is driving her crazy in another way now. A well-done read with a mostly realistic wrap-up regarding how these two can merge their very different lives. NFM

Hitched for the Holidays by Jennifer Drew (Harl. Duets #90, Dec 02)

challenge_name:

From the back: Expert organizer Mindy Ryder has told her meddling father that she's seeing a doctor. Now he's coming to visit, so she gets her dog's vet, Eric Kincaid, to pretend for one date with her and her dad. He agrees b/c his mom is always meddling in his love life and he understands. Then Mindy's dad breaks his ankle and has to stay with her longer than expected, so Mindy and Eric work out a new agreement. Will their continued togetherness lead to something more? Some humor, nice people to spend a couple of hours with. a Few annoying misunderstandings but . . . NFM
