This book was read in dribs and drabs, which makes it a bit difficult to form a cohesive opinion about it.  Especially hard because the last half was read in the hospital emergency room with my mother (who is doing very well, thank God), but my overall impression was definitely favorable.

Brody Taggert is struggling with Christmas seven years after his brother's death, but is forced to confront the cheerless season when newcomer Lila Grainger thrusts it upon him.
