One of the very best perks of being a Harlequin author is that whenever I have a book released, Harlequin sends me boxes of free books to use for giveaways and as review copies, etc.. Granted, the books are all the same...but for a dyed-in-the-wool book lover, there's nothing like opening up those boxes and seeing all the fresh, lovely books! I look forward to this delivery like a seven-year-old kid looks forward to Santa.

You all understand that, right?

So here's what happened this weekend.

Summer Fun by Molly Evans

What's everyone doing out there for summer fun? It's now August and my son has returned to his year-'round school. He's glad, because he was getting bored at home with me. It's tough to be nine and soooooo bored. I, however, could never work again a day in my life and never be bored. There are so many things to do! Reading and writing, of course, but there are socks to learn how to knit, handmade cards to make, which of course, requires many trips to the craft store(s), new recipes to try out, gardening, and of course, luxury time at the coffee shop writing and reading without distractions (laundry and dishes). Eek!

Sweet Dreams and Deception by Jenny Penn ... QC #230

Sweet Dreams, Deception

3 ½ Hearts! ~~~ This is the first time reading stories from Ms. Penn, while they are definitely explicit in the sex department, they are also fun, witty, and thoroughly enjoyable to read.  If you like a bit of humour with a steamy anything goes romp, then you'll find these fit the bill.  Deception had some roaringly hilarious moments that I'm still chuckling from!

Rodeo Drive by Jennifer Loy ... QC #225

4 Hearts! ~~~ This is my first read from Ms. Loy and it will not be my last!  This is a fun, witty, romantic read with a drool worthy hero that will charm your socks off and a fiesty heroine that will make you laugh with her quick humour and cry with her inner turmoil.  This lovestory drew me in from the first pages and I quickly found myself at the end.

Huzzah! Chivlary isn’t dead after all… it’s just been turned on its ear. Full of battles, both between the English and the Normans as well as between Ariel and everyone she meets, Lady Knight is a fast-paced historical novel that puts quite a twist on your average fantasy story.

Doing Ireland! by Kate Hoffmann

Doing Ireland!

I found "Doing Ireland!" as irresistible as its successful but somewhat reclusive hero (inn owner Will Donovan) found the recently jilted Claire O'Connor. Was it because of Sorcha Mulrooney's spell, or was it just meant to be?

Romance in Marriage

A wonderfully spun tale of a marriage on the rocks coming together through fantasy role play. NFM
