Excellent wrap-up to the "Study" trilogy. The action is non-stop with all our favorite characters in pretty much non-stop danger. Yelena finally learns what her gift is. We learn why Valek is immune to magic, the details of the Commander's secret and get hints at Opal's magic and personality, all while chasing/fighting/discovering more bad guys. Opal, according to the discussion here last week, is the focus of the next book set in Ixia & Sitia. I'm looking forward to seeing more of certain secondary characters. Highly recommended. Third in the Sophie Katz books. Sophie is back with her usual sidekicks to investigate first her friend's dh's odd behavior and then his murder. Sophie's also getting bizarre death threats. She teams up once again with sexy P.I. Anatoly Darinsky to solve the case. Centered around the world of politics and ummm "Furries"--people whose sexual turn-on is to dress up as animals--the humor and pacing are spot on.  This time, though, there are some soul-searching and sad moments for Sophie. Second in the Sophie Katz books. Sophie's b-i-l is murdered, and naturally her sister is the prime suspect. Sophie hires sexy P.I. Anatoly to help figure out who did do it and why. A good mix of characters, humor, sexual tension and changing suspects. Funny scene between Anatoly and Sophie involving her addiction to coffee and espresso beans. :) I liked this one better than the first. Read it for the characters and snappy dialog, not the mystery.
