Cilla McGowen grew up in the Hollywood spotlight as a famous childhood star. She is also the granddaughter of Janet Hardy, a legendary Hollywood star who committed suicide after the death of her teenage son. As an adult, Cilla is no longer in the Hollywood scene. She has started a new career flipping houses.

This heroine can be a trial--especially to her romantic lead, a detective whose cases she keeps getting into the middle of--but she gets into some really interesting situations.  I love books set in Hollywood, and this one was especially fun.

A great read with two of my favorite things...cowboys and movie stars! An Alpha hero, Tony Young is short on words but long on all the best things about a hero and heroine Maggie McShane is a goner from the moment she sees him.

My Review:

The heroine's cousin lost her virginity to the hero, an actor, 8 years ago or so.  The cousin was eaten up by guilt over her indiscretion and blamed the hero for seducing her with "promises of marriage".  The heroine now thinks very badly of the hero because of the things she heard about him.  She writes a scathing letter about him, he comes to investigate the person who wrote such things.  And he is attracted to her, but he doesn't tell her who he really is.  Once she finds out, it's a bit awkward.
