He drew in a sharp breath. ‘Are you absolutely certain you can’t be pregnant from our time together last night?’
She blinked. ‘You came back here at one o’clock in the morning to ask me that?’ she said incredulously.
No, of course he hadn’t come back here just to ask her that!
But it seemed as good a place as any to start this conversation…
‘Are you certain?’ he repeated insistently.
‘No, of course not. But—’
‘Would you like to be?’
Accidentally Yours by Susan Mallery
My take: You have to admire the courage and guts Kerri displays in this story where she will do anything and everything if it means that it will get the funding needed to find a cure for her son Cody's terminal illness.
