Pregnant with Sheik Karim's dead brother's baby, all Julie Gardner wanted was some help for her baby.  What she got was being held until proof of paternity could be proved.  The more she tried to leave,  the more things began to happen.   I always enjoy Dana's writing.

Ex-cop Geoffrey Archer has been a broken man since his wife's rape and subsequent suicide.  When he learns that Resa Wade may be the target by the same rapist, he feels duty-bound to protect her.  Keeping her safe means keeping her with him and he have no intention of letting anyone into his life-not even beautiful Resa, her presence poses a threat to his guarded heart.  Will Geoffrey and Resa

Holy lick!  That was an awesome read.  It's been a while since I've read a Stevens (don't ask me why) and I gotta say I won't be missing anymore.  Sure, not a lot of sex (sorry, single, celibate, sex matters) and not detailed either (it really matters), but she makes up for it with amazing amounts of suspence.  It felt like old-school Johansen, but better.  Much more psychological than action
