This reissue of Ida Cook's "We Followed Our Stars," retitled "Safe Passge", reminds us that heroes and heroines can exist in the unlikeliest of persons, and that hope is never a lost cause.

This is a great modern translation of the Tanakh and the Brit Hadashah (AKA the New Testament), giving the Bible what so many modern English translations had taken away: its essential Jewishness. There's a glossary in the back for people who are unaccustomed to reading Biblical names in their Hebrew transliterations (e.g., Moses = Moshe, Jesse = Yishai, etc.). Highly recommended to anyone who would like a newer translation without any "thees" and "thous." Also interesting for anyone who has never read the Bible, either because it looked too hard or being from another religion.
