Passionate Intruder by Lilian Peake (HP 612)
Sharon Mason is a crazy doormat martyr heroine. Warning: this summary rant contains lots of spoilers so no one else will ever have to suffer through this book.
Past All Forgetting by Sara Craven (HP 243)
Seven years ago, Janna Prentiss was a spoiled teenage girl, who though the world was her oyster and getting her desire her right – and what she wanted was the nephew of a neighbor, Rian Tempest.
Wait for the Storm by Jayne Bauling (HP 505)
Lesley Crosnier is in some ways a spoiled little rich girl, and in other ways quite above it all. She's home from university for the summer and anticipating continuing her torment of the superficial young men who value her only for her looks.
Just One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins (HQN 2008)
I just loved this book. It is written in the first-person, telling the story of Chastity Virginia O'Neill (yes, that's really her name - her father thought it would be funny, apparently). Chastity is the sole daughter in a family of 5. Her brothers are of the heroic, alpha-male type, firefighters, EMTs. etc. etc. Being one of the guys is what Chastity has known her entire life. She can drink beer, play pool, row and throw a punch with the best of them. She just has this wee problem with blood and gore... she faints. Definitely a wimpy thing for a fire captain's daughter.
Just One of the Guys
Spirit Willing, Flesh Weak
Hysterically funny at times, tears in my eyes sad at others, this story of a fake stage psychic and the investigative journalist determined to debunk her is a real keeper. I'm off now to read everything I can get my hands on by Julie Cohen!
West of Bohemia by Jessica Steele (M&B)
This was written in 1992, but it seems a bit out-dated, 1980s style. The heroine is a little stereotypically innocent, loves nature and animals and looks wide-eyed at everything. She has come to another country to interview a reclusive author, pretending to be her journalist sister. He doesn't believe she's a journalist because of her behaviour, she falls in love, he treats her inexplicably hot/cold, until the end where there's a confession/revelation scene.
Revenant
Following her daughter’s murder and the subsequent collapse of both her marriage and career, hard-bitten reporter Carson Lynch flees Miami for her hometown of Biloxi, Mississippi. By day she sleepwalks through her new job at the only paper that will have her; by night she finds solace in a bottle of vodka.

Extreme Exposure by
